The artist book by Daniel Egg is published on the occasion of his latest work “Information Stream” on the Brix facade of Kunsthaus Graz. The texts examine the linguistic phantasmagorias of the Viennese artist from various perspectives and explore both the way he uses visual language and his semantic vocabulary that manifests itself in smoke. The book also deals with the social codes of smoking and the associations connected with it ranging from the intellectual habitus of the 1920s to the antipathy to smoking that emerged in the last decade. It contains illustrations of the entire series consisting of film, photography and light installations.
